Beth tried really hard to get it flying, then found it made a nice mat to lay on.
The other kite was fine but kept crashing.
Once we finally worked out that problem, it flew so well that it broke the string. Fortunately we were in a park large enough to be well away from traffic. The kite landed in the road, but it was just a road to the ball fields. Got the kite back up and flying well, but ran out of string. Once a kite is up as far as it will go, it gets kind of boring.
Beth, Lili and Evie laid down to watch, finding it more comfortable.
I noticed several cars driving back to the dunes in the back of the park, towards where a couple of small boat launches are located. I thought they might be people going to fish from the shore, but the noticed a bunch of guys running up and down on a hill in the distance. We watched for a while to try and figure it out, but were too far to tell for sure. Our curiosity got the best of us, so we drove back to check it out. The guys were playing at war or maybe king of the mountain? Tori took some video. Sorry for the shakiness, it was very windy and she'd zoomed in as far as possible. They sure did seem to be having fun!

We'd hoped to turn in Tori's registration paperwork for PCC yesterday, but I was running late and didn't get there. I'd hoped they'd be open today, no luck there. They aren't open Saturdays, and are on Spring Break this coming week, so we are on hold again. My fault this time.
Time to have lunch then head out to get some chlorine for our gone green pool and propane for the steaks tonight.
